This is a blog written by our very own KORENTIN, from Higashisuna House.

It seems like he wasn’t impressed by the area surrounding the hotel,

but he did find the wasabi rice bowl amusing.

I guess the Banana and Crocodile Zoo.. took the prize for the most interesting establishment by the hotel lol

Thanks for your blog Korentin!! promise-heart.jpg

To get an inside look on one of our Annual Onsen Trips, READ THE BLOG BELOW.

Hello everyone,

New Year 2019 was the occasion of our traditional « onsen trip » with Borderless tenants and OB&OG.

This year, we went to Atagawa in Shizuoka Prefecture  「熱川」

map.jpg

It took about 3 hours by bus from Tokyo so we had to leave from Ikebukuro at 8am.

We had to change buses twice to get there.

During our first transfer we stopped at a service station near the city where they had fried oysters, crepes and other decent foods with indecent prices (haha).

There was also foot bath where we could relax immersing our feet in hot spring water.

Once we arrived at the hotel we had some free time so we visit the city.

It did not really have that much to offer except a beautiful view of the sea right in front of the hotel…

… a banana/crocodile/flamingo zoo park… (? Lol what)

… and some local specialties such as “wasabi don” (no joke)

The onsen at the hotel was fine, the only detail that was embarrassing was that the outdoor bath where on a balcony which directly overlooked the street (but with proper folding screen though :P)

The evening was the occasion to have a Japanese party on tatamis for those still awaken.

On the following day, we just had time to go to the onsen for the last time and to take a group picture, and then we left for Tokyo around 9:30 am.

Here is a video made by Borderless Tokyo staff which sums up the trip.

We are especially thankful to Vivien who gave the best of herself to organize this trip as it was her last as a Borderless staff.

Yours Truly,

Korentin

PS. This is Vivien. Thank you for the shout out, Korentin! I’ll be bothering your guys even after I’m gone, so see y’all later ^^Y
